So much science!

Hollis has been a busy bee lately.  He's been playing with bubbles - a great science experiment.  He's been brushing up his art skillz with some new play doh and markers, coloring pictures of farm animals leftover from his birthday party, and he's been spending a ton of time outside in the yard exploring, being loud, climbing, and pushing his ride ons all about (more science, and a little PE!).  Another new fascination of his - dress up!  He's acquired a conductor's hat, a cowboy hat, 2 different leis, 2 play silks which make great capes, a puppy dog hat (he's really mastering the puppy dog sound - woof woof, pant pant pant pant) and a pair of sunglasses (social studies).

A few weeks ago, I took him to the Tractor Supply Co. in town because they had live chicks, bunnies, and ducklings.  That was fascinating to him.  He watched them for a while before my husband finally had to drag us out of the store.  Social studies

He's also really picking up on some opposites.  I set up his ball pit and spent 20 minutes on the floor with him as he took the balls out and i put them back in, labeling it every time "Out...in.  Out....out....in!"  He likes this game with Easter eggs too, although the Easter eggs are losing their magic.  They are about to go into hiding until next year lol.  Math

He's learning body parts too - when he's nursing, we practice finding mommy's nose, eyes, cheeks, chin, hair, etc.  Biology

The only other obvious thing I can think of is his computer time - which is rare, because he tends to smack all the keys and rename files and delete files and change my desktop settings and make my screen go black - but we <3 starfall.com, so far in his repertoire he has H, C, S, and we've just recently added D!  the only sound he really knows is the H, but he enjoys the videos on the other ones - especially the cow video, and the dinosaur video!  Phonics
